Getting To The Point - A Charlotte for ALL OF US.
My name is Jaraun "Gemini" Boyd, and I’m running to be your next mayor because I believe our city is at a crossroads. We can either keep leaving people behind—or we can build a city that works for all of us, not just those of us at the top.
Charlotte is full of promise—but too many are being priced out, pushed aside, or simply ignored. I have spoken to families in Charlotte who’ve been here for generations but can’t afford rising taxes. I have met young people who ride the bus two hours just to get to work—and others who say they don’t feel safe walking home.
We deserve a safe Charlotte.
MY VISION
Housing
We are in a housing crisis. I will fight to expand affordable housing, protect long-time homeowners from being pushed out, and have developers pay their fair share.
Transportation
We are stuck in traffic while our buses break down and our city workers do not fell protected. That ends with me. I will fight for faster, more reliable transit and safer streets—for drivers, bikers, and pedestrians.
Safety
We must be tough on violence—but also smart. That means investing in our youth, funding community violence programs, and holding everyone—including police—accountable to the people.
Opportunity
Charlotte currently ranks last in economic mobility—and that’s unacceptable. Where you’re born should never dictate where you end up. I will fight to invest in job training and workforce development, support and grow small businesses, the backbone of our local economy and break the link between ZIP code and opportunity, so every child and family has a fair chance to succeed.
Youth
Our kids deserve more than crowded schools and empty promises. I will fight to fund education, expand after-school programs, and create spaces where every young person feels seen and safe.
Healthcare
Access to affordable, quality healthcare isn’t a luxury—it’s a basic human right. I will fight to expand local health services, increasing mental health resources, and advocate for care that meets families where they are.
Diversity
Charlotte’s strength lies in its people—and that means embracing and uplifting the diverse voices, cultures, and communities that make our city vibrant. I am committed to equity, representation, and ensuring every resident feels seen, heard, and valued at every level of leadership.
Environment
Protecting our environment is crucial for the well-being of our community. I will fight for sustainable practices, invest in green initiatives, and prioritize the protection of our natural resources.
